TENETS OF FAITH

TRM MINISTRIES was founded upon the following principles and convictions. Its vision, operations and ministry will, at all times, be based upon the same.

The Scriptures are God’s Inspired
We believe that all Scripture (the Bible) is the product of the Holy Spirit’s inspiration. The Old and the New Testaments constitute the written and revealed will of God for his people (Israel and the Church) and for all mankind as well. We acknowledge the absolute authority of the bible in all matters of faith and conduct. We further assert God’s Word, the Scripture, is superior to conscience, to reason and is always true and logical (1 Peter 1:10- 12, 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16, Matthew 4:4, Hebrew 4:12).

The one true Godhead
We believe in the triune Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. These distinct persons or personalities are one and indivisible and work in complete unity (1 John 5:20, Phil. 2:6, John 1:13, 1 Timothy 1:16-17, Isaiah 9:5-6).

Man, his Fall, and Redemption
Man was created as a perfect being (spirit, soul, physical body). Man was made with ability to make decisions and make choices. As a free moral agent, man decided to disobey God thus separating himself from his Creator. Therefore, man has fallen from God and denied God’s plan for his life. In order to redeem man from his sinful state (spiritual death) and save him from impending judgment (eternal damnation) God in his infinite love and grace put into effect an all wise plan for man’s total redemption. Through the death and resurrection of his son, God provided forgiveness of sin and offered to mankind the blessed opportunity to rule and reign with Him in glory for eternity, through Christ, his resurrected and glorified Son (Genesis1:26-31, 3:1-7, Rom.4:12-21, Acts 17:30-31 4:12, John 3:16, John 6:47, John 5:21 24, 1 John 5:10-12; Psalm 8).

The Salvation of Man
a) Means and provision of salvation
Christ on the cross of Calvary became sin and sickness; and man’s only hope of redemption is through his shed blood, providing both salvation and divine healing for all mankind (Psalm103:3). Justification is freely given by God’s grace through redemption which is in Christ, “for by grace we are saved through faith and not by our works” (Eph.2:8; Rom.3:24, Rom.10:8-10).

b) The Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence to the believer, of his salvation, is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rom.8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. “And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his son, Jesus, and love one another, just as he commanded us” (1 John 3:10, 14, 15; 1 John 3:18, 19, 23).

c) Faith and work
Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works. However, our works constitute the perfection (or completion) of our faith, and will determine our rewards for eternity upon Christ’s return (Acts 16:3, Romans 10:9-10, Romans 14:20-21; James 2:14-26).

Water Baptism
The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ must be observed, as commanded by the Lord, by all who really repented, and have in their hearts truly trusted in Christ as personal Savior and Lord. In so doing, they have also been raised with him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:16, Acts 10:47 48, Romans 6:40).

The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper must be taken as an act of faith in the New Covenant made in Jesus blood and body. Knowledge and faith in the substitutionary death of the Passover Lamb, slain on the cross, is a fundamental requirement for true participation. The eating of the bread and the drinking of the wine symbolize the communion or oneness with the death and resurrection of the Lord’s body. As often as this ordinance is practiced, it must be done in the right spirit, as an act of remembrance of the Lord’s priceless sacrifice. In addition, this act proclaims the death of the Lord, until his return on earth (1 Cor.11: 24-28).

The Promise of the Father: The Holy Spirit
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father. The baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire, according to the Lord’s command, is a gift of God to everyone who truly believes in Christ (Luke 11:11-13, John 7:37-39; Acts 2:37-40). This was the normal experience for all believers in the early church. Apart from the Apostles and the disciples who had to wait at the upper room until Jesus was glorified and enthroned in heaven, everyone thereafter who meets the faith requirement can receive the baptism or infilling of the Holy Spirit (Gal.3:1-3). With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (John 11:16, Luke 24:29, Acts 1:4-8). It is God’s will for all believers to receive and operate in the anointing of the Holy Spirit in everything we do, even as Jesus did (Isaiah 61:1-3; Luke 4:14-15; 1 John 2:27).

The Church
The Church is the body of Christ, the Habitation of the Holy Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Without exception, each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the First Born which are written in heaven (Eph.1:22, Eph.2:19-22, Heb.12: 23).

Marriage
We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.

Abundant Life
God is a God of prosperity and of abundance. As Lord of the increase and as the Master of the harvest, He wants his children to grow and multiply. He wants them to bring much fruit in all areas of their lives (John l5:22-26; Eph.5:6-13). God’s will is a prosperous and successful life for his beloved children; spiritually, physically and financially (3John 2). Jesus came for his sheep to have abundant life in this present world and in the one to come (Ps. 23, Jn 10:10, 1Cor.3: 21-23).

The Rapture
The Lord Jesus is coming again to gather his saints to heaven with Him. In their new glorified bodies, they will meet the Lord in the air (1Cor.15: 51-53, 1Thes.4: 16-17, 2 Thes.2:1)

The Lake of fire
Those who have not accepted or have rejected the redemptive work of Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. The Devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone whose name is not found in the book of life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone. This is the second death, the lake of fire (Rev.19:20, Rev.20:10-15).

The millennial reign of Christ
The return of our Lord, with his saints from heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth, will take place as the Scriptures predicted (Matt. 24:25, 2Thes.1:7, Rev.19:11-16). After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth (2 Pet.3:10- 14; Rev. 21:1-5).

These tenets of faith constitute the main doctrines of TRM MINISTRIES. However, there are practices and beliefs at TRM, although based on God’s Word, not included in the listing above.
